A Japanese bronze basket for flower arranging, in an archaic hu vessel form, with double handled squared neck and a pear shaped body. Three sections of distinct patterns showing bamboo woven and shaped to form the ikebana basket. The base has a bamboo leaf motif and the handles are formed with bent bamboo reeds. The basket is from the Meiji period, late 19th to early 20th century. 12 x 10 inches
